Grey Ravens and Black Bones
Even after years of disuse under Morag’s bed, the fiddle was beautiful and in excellent condition when Briar found it. Made of a high quality maple, it had obviously been cared for lovingly throughout its life, and even after Briar’s clumsy young hands started making regular use of it at the age of 5, the fiddle showed little wear and tear and rarely needed tuning. Briar never allowed herself to become complacent, however, and she taught herself to properly maintain and care for her prized instrument.
Briar secretly and wistfully believes that the violin was enchanted by her father to maintain its good condition and excellent tuning.
